Winter 2012 Welcomes Newcomers & Retains Natural/Organic Strength

WHITE PLAINS, NY, October 28, 2011... With the addition of several new suppliers and leading lines, the winter 2012 edition of EX·TRACTS® will feature a marked growth in the fragrance category, as well as a continued wealth of natural and organic resources. EX·TRACTS® will showcase some 100 suppliers of innovative and emerging personal care, beauty and wellness lines, January 29 - February 2, 2012, at New York City’s Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.

“EX·TRACTS continues to refine its offerings for spa, salon and specialty retail,” said Melissa Engongoro, EX·TRACTS sales manager. “This winter, buyers will find an increased number of fragrance lines, a continued depth of natural and organic lines and some exciting newcomers.”

Among fragrance suppliers and brands featured at the winter 2012 edition are Europerfumes (representing Comptoir Sud Pacifique, Costume National, Juliette Has a Gun, Maitre Parfumeur et Gantier, Montale Parfums and Rance); Fragonard Parfumeur represented by Cie Luxe; Fragrances of Ireland - Inis the Energy of the Sea; Lubin; Niche Marketing (representing BCBG, Ed Hardy, Jennifer Aniston, Jessica Simpson, Marc Ecko, Penguin, Perry Ellis, Rihanna, True Religion and Vince Camuto); Royal Apothic; Tocca LLC and West Third Brand.

Exciting first-time additions to EX·TRACTS for the winter market include C.O. Bigelow Apothecaries, the oldest apothecary in the U.S, with bath and body products,

including makeup, shaving products, skin care, hair care and fragrance; and British nail care company butter LONDON, with its popular line of nail lacquers and hand and foot treatments. EX·TRACTS also welcomes back Chesapeake Bay Candle and Ton Savon following an absence from the market. These new exhibitors join industry leaders, such as Archipelago, J.R. Watkins Naturals, Joya Inc., Mangicotti and Voluspa, who are long- time EX·TRACTS exhibitors, at NYIGF.

Within the natural and organic category, EX·TRACTS will welcome Blithe and Bonny (hand-crafted soy candles, soap, lotion); Ebb & Flow (handcrafted soaps and candles); Marula / The Leaky Collection (Marula oil); and the Metropolis Soap Company (handmade vegan and organic skincare). Farmhouse Fresh (bath and body) also will return after an absence from market.

Several current EX·TRACTS exhibitors will expand their exhibit floor presence for the winter market. Simpatico–Home expands adding K. Hall Studio and Barr Co to their presentation; and Lothantique adds Hervé Gambs (home fragrance from France) to its collection.

EX·TRACTS will continue its partnership with the Day Spa Association to present a special seminar, titled “Visual Merchandising for Personal Care,” on Sunday, January 29, from 3:30PM – 4:30PM. In this image-rich presentation, Allan Share and Patti Biro of the Day Spa Association will illustrate successful ways to merchandise and integrate personal care products within spa, salon and specialty retail settings. Seminar tickets are $20 in advance and $25 onsite.

During NYIGF, nearly 40 educational sessions will be presented. Topics include color and design trends, retail strategies, sustainability and more. Complete details and registration is available online at www.nyigf.com/programs.

The Best New Products Awards will return to EX·TRACTS to recognize excellence in five categories – Bath & Body, Beauty Accessory, Cosmetic & Fragrance, Natural/Organic and Packaging – along with one overall “Best of Show” distinction. Winners and finalists, selected by a panel of editors based on innovative product concept, industry need, aesthetic appeal, creative use of materials/technology and creative packaging, will be announced on Tuesday, January 31.
